History of Rugby Park

1964-65 League Champions

There are places I remember all my life," sang John Lennon in 1965, and for Davie Sneddon that same spring, one was to be Tynecastle Park, where he and his Kilmarnock team-mates clinched the league title for the first and so far only time in the club's history.

1996-97 Scottish Cup Winners

It was entirely fitting that 25,000 Kilmarnock supporters cavorted for half an hour after the end of the 112th Scottish Cup final to the tune of their adopted anthem, Paper Roses. This was the season when - for the first time since 1929 - the trophy headed for Ayrshire.

1928-29 Scottish Cup Winners

For the second time since the war (the 1st World War) Kilmarnock captured the Scottish Cup with an upset win over the mighty Rangers the holders at Hampden Park. Killie had beaten Celtic in the Semi's to set up this Final.

1919-20 Scottish Cup Winners

Of all the original 1873 Scottish Cup entrants, the name of Kilmarnock Football Club was the only name missing on the trophy! That was to change on Apr 17th 1920, only fitting seeing as how Killie had contributed a pound towards the costs of the cup in the first place.
